Austere Tango Shoes

Austere is a Brisbane (Australia) based online store importing and selling the luxurious Comme il Faut brand of tango shoes from Argentina.
Whilst we have no shop front, if you would like to arrange for particular shoes to come to a milonga so that they can be tried on, just send an email to spikey@austere.com.au.
On occasion a selection will be taken to events held in other locations in Australia, when this happens an email will be sent out to the Austere mailing list to notify dancers as well as being listed here.
Austere understands that a large display of shoes can be disruptive and distracting at a lesson, practica, or milonga and has no wish to impose upon organisers. As such, Austere's policy is to only brings shoes to an event where explicitly invited by the organisers. Austere may contact an organiser when a student or attendee expresses a desire to try on shoes at a particular venue. If you are interested in a selection of shoes being brought to an event as either a teacher, organiser or student, please contact us and Austere will make arrangements to attend where possible when next in the area. Austere will attempt to fulfil all such requests, however where timetable conflicts arise Austere will give precedence on a first-in-first-served basis.
Check out the short film 'Last Tango in Sunnybank'. Made by Rosetta Cook in Brisbane, the film is delightful a look at the search for passion in life. Rosetta has submitted it to several film festivals, so keep an eye out for it. For those who know a few of the gentlemen on the Brisbane tango track you may spy some familiar faces.
